The latest machining technologies and Oktoberfest charm came together at Tektoberfest at our Charlotte, North Carolina and Yorba Linda, California offices.

The Charlotte event was held at the same time as SouthTec, a local trade show. GF AgieCharmilles provided German fare, free parking and shuttles to and from the show for more than 70 guests, a majority from aerospace, automotive, electronics and medical market segments. Also present were future machinists and engineers from the local academic institutions.

Upon arrival, attendees were warmly greeted and given a name tag and reusable cloth bag containing GF AgieCharmilles hand sanitizer, pen and flash drive pre-loaded with digital brochures of the machines demonstrated at the event. The cloth bag proved handy when the attendees visited the SouthTec show. Once guests had checked-in at Tektoberfest, they were escorted to the rear of the building, where they could enjoy the hospitality room containing Bavarian food and refreshments.

In addition to the festive culinary fare, the attendees enjoyed one-on-one time with the AgieCharmilles applications and service representatives, who were available to discuss the wide array of EDM and Milling technologies that were presented on the AgieCharmilles CUT 20P, CUT 200 and CUT 3000 wire EDM systems; the FORM 20 FD and FO 350 die-sink EDM systems; the DRILL 20 hole drilling EDM; and the Mikron HSM 500 3-axis High-Speed Milling machine. Some of the technologies that were showcased included micro-hole EDM, EDM turning, High-speed machining of bevel gear dies, and multi-cavity progressive dies.

The two-day open house attracted a total of 73 people - 44 on Tuesday, 29 on Wednesday. The event was a great success and we look forward to the coming weeks and months to learn the open house’s impact on machine sales.

The Yorba Linda event, held October 25 and 26, attracted 162 guests. Among the guests were key Agie Charmilles customers and prospective customers from aerospace, medical and ICT market segments. Guests enjoyed Bavarian food, refreshments, music, door prizes and personalized machine demonstrations of: CUT 20P, CUT 200, Progress VP2, FORM 30, DRILL 20, FO 350 SP, HSM 400U LP.

In all, both Tektoberfest event attracted more than 200 customers and have contributed to 5 known machine sales. We look forward to the residual effects of the events in the weeks to come.
